Ad Astra are expanding throughout Yorkshire, East Riding and the North East including Doncaster, Hull and County Durham.
We are soon to be opening our branch at the Humberheads Peatlands NNR before Christmas 2018
We are also very happy to welcome Rebecca, Natalie and Brady to our growing team.
Ad Astra ensures that our students learn for life. Our bespoke teaching gives them the knowledge they need to prepare for their future.
Unlike many other ALP's we work in partnership with schools to deliver GCSE's.
We use a variety of additional study methods, offering a more inclusive form of teaching, to provide students with a better chance of success. This teaching approach is particularly designed to match the students' different learning types.
Our study groups enable students to apply their learning in a practical way. The teacher's role here is to provide inspiration and encourage the pupils to create their own study groups.
We at Ad Astra work in partnership with Lower Derwent Valley NNR to deliver our educational packages.
We have had the fantastic opportunity to ring and record chicks, make bird boxes, record the wildlife living within the reserve and ensure maintainace of the reserve is met. The pupil's attitudes towards learning outdoors and being so close to the wildlife is simply outstanding, they are constantly learning new things and we have found that they are now taking up birdwatching as hobbies - something they would never have thought about until they joined Ad Astra!
We have seen and recorded such species as:
And these sightings were recorded in one day!!
