Ad Astra are sponsoring!

Updated: Jul 10, 2020

Ad Astra are very proud to announce that they are sponsoring a close friend, Craig Forsyth, who will be rowing 3000 miles SOLO across the Atlantic Ocean, all in aid of SPORTING CHANCE CHARITY.

Sporting Chance was founded by Tony Adams MBE, former Arsenal & England Captain, inspired by his own recovery from alcholism.

For the last twenty years Sporting Chance has created a safe place for the Sports Professional to take care of their mental health.

Craig's Story

December 2020 will mark Craig’s epic adventure to row solo 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean as part of the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Row Challenge. Having embarked on a few extreme endurance challenges in the past such as circumnavigating in the Clipper round the World Race, Yak Attack Nepal / Worlds highest Mountain Bike race and cycling Lands End to John O’Groats solo in 5 1/2 days just to name a few. Craig knows the physical and mental strength needed and while relishing the test this offers, and being able to prepare physically for the rowing, he is aware of the highs and lows that may be ahead of me. In May 2018 Craig tragically lost his father Colin to a heart attack. A legend in Rugby league, a role model and supportive foundation in Craig’s life not only as his father but through Craig's own professional rugby league career and ‘Crazy Craig’ challenges. This is where Craig was introduced to Sporting Chance. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help, either during or after a career in Sport and despite the importance of mental health regularly hitting the headlines, many sports people still suffer in silence with the stigma of mental health haunting them in the shadows and not asking for the help that they need. Sporting Chance do incredible work supporting both individuals and organisations across the world of sport, to address mental health, emotional welfare and addictive disorders. A very fitting charity for such a sporting endeavor as rowing the Atlantic
